I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
